Information
Originally created with a local and regional scope, since 2001 the CTM has been operating nationally, and on 29 May 2023 it was registered in the Ministry of Science and Innovation's Register of Technology Centres and Technology Innovation Support Centres, under number 136. Also in 2001, the Centre's OTRI (Office for the Transfer of Research Results) was registered under number 164 in the Register established for this purpose.
The Technology Centre has highly qualified staff who are developing research projects and technological services with high added value for the natural stone sector, the extractive industry, construction, crafts and related fields. All this without forgetting other equally significant aspects, such as training, technology dissemination and technical advice. Our objectives include:
• Carrying out research and development (R&D) programmes, on a cooperative basis, both in relation to manufacturing processes and to raw materials and finished products.
• Provision of services, both in technical assistance and training.
• Preparation and performance of quality control tests and analyses.
• Preparation and implementation of measurement and control methods.
• Promotion of technological training for companies and their staff.
• Carrying out studies, reports and advice on industry standards and specifications, as well as raw materials, automation and improvement of industrial products and processes.
• Collaboration with other public or private, national and international organisations whose aims are similar to those of the Association.
• Carrying out industrial design programmes for products and manufacturing processes, process quality and maintenance, with a special focus on the use of solutions based on information technologies.
• Compiling and disseminating technological information through bibliographies, publications and information.
• Providing direct technological assistance to companies that require it.
• Any other activity in the field of technology that contributes to the development and strengthening of the competitiveness of companies.
• Promotion of companies in the natural stone and related sectors at an international level.
